Ojodu LCDA has proudly joined other councils across Lagos State for the official launch of the Lagos State E-Birth Registration Initiative, a landmark step towards a smarter, data-driven future for children.
The digital birth registration programme introduced by the Lagos State Government in partnership with the National Population Commission (NPC) is designed to make birth registration easier, faster, and more reliable, ensuring every child is counted and cared for.
Representing the Executive Chairman, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, the Leader of the House, Hon. Opeyemi Apatira alongside other Councillors, while welcoming stakeholders, PHC heads and community leaders to the event, emphasized the council’s unwavering commitment to innovation, identity management and improved access to social services.
The event featured on-site demonstrations and real-time enrollment of newborns, showcasing Ojodu LCDA’s readiness to lead in the implementation of the digital registration system across all wards.
To round off the ceremony, E-Registration Tablets were officially presented to Oke-Ira Central PHC, Ogba PHC, and Ojodu LCDA, marking the beginning of a new era in birth data management. Also in attendance were all the Councillors with Officials of the Legislative arm, MOH, Apex Nurses and other dignitaries.
