Lagos State Govt Set To Upgrade Amoo/Adalemo Road In Orile Agege LCDA

The Lagos State Government has declared its readiness to commence the upgrade of Amoo/Adalemo Road in Orile Agege Local Council Development Area of the State.


The Special Adviser to the Governor on Urban Development, Mr. Ganiyu Adele Ayuba, spoke on the development during a stakeholders’ meeting held at Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium, Alausa, stating that the forum aimed to acquaint residents with government intentions for the project and seek their understanding as well as inputs.


He stated that the engagement was in line with the present administration’s bottom-up approach to developmental issues, stressing that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had mandated that every infrastructural development project should begin with the engagement of stakeholders.

Ayuba averred that Mr. Governor is committed to executing the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda of his administration, especially as it relates to infrastructural renewal across the State.


He, therefore, called for the cooperation of the people at every stage of the project, including the establishment of the Right of Way and the actual construction of the road.


The representative of the community at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Oluyinka Ogundimu, appreciated the State Government for the life-impacting project in the axis and pledged the cooperation of his people, just as he urged the residents to own and protect the facility.

Speaking on the scope of the job, the Permanent Secretary,  Office of Infrastructure, Engr. Olufemi Daramola, said that the construction would span 12 months and would involve the relocation of services, delivery of Right of Way, provision of service ducts, crushed stone base course and paving stones as well as street lights among others.

The Chairman of Orile Agege Local Council Development Area, Mr. Johnson Babatunde, also commended the Sanwo-Olu administration for its acclaimed efforts in infrastructural development, while making a case for such laudable projects in other parts of the Council Area.

The Baale Orile Agege, Chief Kazeem Momodu, also joined others in appreciating the State Government for the project and urged the Contractor to ensure its timely completion.
Other residents of Amoo/Adalemo at the meeting also expressed their happiness on the commencement of the road upgrade and commended the Sanwo-Olu administration for bringing the infrastructural project to their area.
