The Lagos State Government has charged staff of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) to consistently use the Green Sticker for building control in the State.
The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako gave the directive today at the periodic meeting with the management staff of LASBCA and Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA).
He stated that the Green Sticker was conceived as evidence of pass-mark on buildings monitored by the building control agency, saying: “The presence of the Green Sticker on any building is an indication that the building, having been assessed by the staff of LASBCA, has gone through compliance checks and complied to specific requirements”.
Salako urged staff of the Agency to guide their integrity and be painstaking in the use of the stickers, adding that professionalism should always be their watchword.
The Commissioner called for effective collaboration between LASPPPA and LASBCA, enjoining officers of the sister agencies to view working together as an essential element of success in achieving a sustainable State.
Top officials of the Ministry present at the meeting include the Special Adviser on Urban Development, Mr. Ganiyu Adele Ayuba; Special Adviser, E-GIS, Dr. Olajide Babatunde and the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Abiola Kosegbe.
