The Lagos State Sports Commission celebrates and felicitate with Mr. Amaju Pinnick, President, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over his election into the FIFA Council, the highest decision making body of the world Football Governing body, FIFA and a high –ranking Member of CAF Executive Committee.
In Friday’s election, Pinnick won incumbent Walter Nyamilandu of Malawi by 43 votes to 8 in Morocco’s administrative capital to become the third Nigerian to take a seat in the world football’s highest decision-making organ, after late Etubom Oyo Orok Oyo and Dr Amos Adamu.
Executive Chairman, LSSC, Sola Aiyepeku described Pinnick’s victory as a well deserved one, as the Nigerian Football administrator has paid his dues in African football.
Aiyepeku said the Management of Lagos State Sports Commission was not surprised with Pinnick’s victory in Morocco, as he saw it coming, judging from the selfless service and how the Delta State-born Administrator has been able to stir the ship of the NFF since he assumed office.
“The Lagos State Sports Commission felicitate with Amaju Pinnick on his victory and we are very happy to celebrate him because this one is for the entire country. There is no doubt that he will be a good Ambassador of not only Africa in the FIFA Council, he will make us proud in the global football arena during his tenure,” Aiyepeku said.
