Lagos SWAN Celebrates President-elect Tinubu On Election Victory

Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Lagos chapter has congratulated the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his victory in the just concluded 2023 presidential election.

Tinubu, the flagbearer of All Progressive Congress (APC), defeated Atiku Abubakar of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi of Labour Party and other contestants to win the presidential poll in a result declared early on Wednesday by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).

Chairman of Lagos SWAN, Olatutu Oladunni said in statement on Wednesday that members of the association rejoice with Tinubu over the victory, adding that the development of sports when the President-elect was the Governor of Lagos State speaks volume of what he would do for sports as the president of Nigeria.

Oladunni noted that with the presidential election over now, the task of governing the country lies on the shoulders of Tinubu.

“It is our believe that the people have spoken with their votes that led to this desired victory.

“We also want to appeal to other opponents in this election to join hands with Tinubu to take this country to the next level,” Oladunni said.

The chairman said Lagos SWAN wants better attention and commitment of Tinubu to sports sector, “and we believe under him sports sector in Nigeria will be better and also add productive value to the Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) of the country while boosting the tourism industry.

Oladunni said: “The Lagos SWAN wishes him well and I pray his tenure shall bring a realistic fulfilled purpose of positivity for sports sector and citizens of Nigeria. We also appeal to him to remember our sports heroes who have written Nigeria’s name in gold across the world in time past.”
