Participating teams have started preparation ahead of Jakande Estate Unity Football Competition which begins 23 November at Oke Afa Jakande Estate football pitch, Isolo, Lagos.
The annual competition draws ceremony was held recently at the football pitch. The competition which is organised by Estate Youth Organization is in knockout format.
Among the teams taking part in the competition are Rhode Island, South Central football team, Junction base football team,, Quiet storm, Peace centre, West Coast, East Coast, Valley Coast and Aso Rock.
Junction Base football and Quiet storm football team would play the opening match to herald the competition.
Chairman Organising Committee, Oluwaseun Adekoya told journalists in Lagos that this year’s edition would be better as all the teams have started early preparation ahead of the competition. He said all the teams would be treated equally, adding that certified referees would officiate all the matches.
“I must confess to you now that all the teams have started preparation for the competition. It shows that the competition is popular and every team want to excel. We the organizers are trying to put finishing touches in area of security and other logistic so that the tourney would be organized better,” he said.
Adekoya charged all the players of various teams to give their best and avoid vices during and after the competition.
