Lagos State will be the battle ground for two days of explosive Professional Wrestling slated to be held on 5th and 6th April, 2024, where wrestlers from far and wide will engage in fierce battle among themselves on who will emerge victorious.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the epoch making event will be held at Big Apple Royale Hotel & Suites, located at 1/3 Salvation Army Street, Oke- Afa area of Lagos.
The fight, which is being organized by the President of Nigeria Professional Wrestling Federation (NPWF), High Chief John Uche, will witness explosive power tussles as the theme indicated ‘Battle Ground’, featuring powerful professional Wrestlers from across Nigeria.
The Special Guests of Honour are the Honourable Minister of Sports, Senator John Owan Enoh and Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor, on Grassroots Sports Development, Mr. Adebanji Atewogboye Adeoye.
The professional wrestlers billed to feature at the event included: Might man, Rasman Iron, Ali King, Mr. Sharpman, Strong Bone, Lady Famous, Alexandra Dequeen, Iron Lady Becky, Mighty Progress, Captain Dunga, Stylish, Zion Lion and Power Vic.
They also include Great Mosendo, Strong Bone Erujeje, Squizzer, Phillip Tiger, Sharpman, Flying Danko, Super Rosco, Power Vic, Zion Lion, Mighty Progress, Mmasterio 619, Stylish J, Rasman Iron, Iron Lady Becky and many others.
This was disclosed by the Federation President, Chief Uche, who said that the event will be unique because it is very rare to assemble such number of professionals at the same time, who will entertain the guests and at the same time engage in power tussle among themselves.
He explained that NPWF was inaugurated by the former Nigeria President, Alhaji Shehu Shagari on 27th September, 1981 and since then it has organized similar events over the years and promoted Sports development and supported the Nigerian Government in the area of human capacity building.
Chief Uche stated that it was during such events poised to promote wrestling that led to the discovery of great talents like late Mike Okpara, HRM James Oladipo, who made Nigeria proud both in Africa and indeed the world in the area of Wrestling Championship.
On the upcoming event, he stated that it will assist in promotion and management of wrestlers to enable them become great talents that will make Nigeria proud in future. And he assured that the event will be exceptional because it was carefully planned not only to entertain the guests but also to nurture talents for the greater future of sports in Nigeria.
Chief Uche stated that the best African Wrestling Stars, both men and women, are coming to showcase their talents and even the current African Light Heavyweight champion Mr. Sharp man of Nigeria and National Heavyweight champion, The Mighty man, have already booked their appearance for the tournament.
