A landlord, Yemi Duduyemi, has landed in trouble after he allegedly planted charms in front of his tenant’s apartment in order to eject him but following the failure of the charms, he was caught in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Duduyemi Street, Bucknor Estate, Ejigbo area of Lagos, where the tenant, Godspower Erhimu, rented an apartment.
The Police did not state the cause of the disagreement between the landlord and tenant but alleged that the landlord, Duduyemi, had earlier stolen the tenant’s power generating set, disconnected his light and assaulted him in order to eject him.
But all that did not work before he went and planted charms on his front door early in the morning and he was caught. He was handed over to the Police at Ejigbo Division for interrogation over the act.
At the Police Station, he reportedly admitted to have done so in order to instill fear in him to move out from his apartment.
The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace, stealing and assault.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Benedith Aigbokhan, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. E. O. Ogunkanmi, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 22nd November, 2021, for mention.
