Landlord Docked For Beating Up Female Lawyer For Rejecting Sexual Advances

A Lagos female lawyer, Barrister Margaret Chukwunyelu-Ilo, had a nasty experience after she rejected the sexual advances of her landlord, Olumide Michael Ayodele, in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the angry landlord, Ayodele, allegedly descended on her, tore her clothes, beat her up mercilessly and injured her in the process.
The incident happened on 27th October, 2025, at Adeogun Street, off Jibowu Road, New-Oko-Oba, Agege, Lagos where the victim rented an apartment.
The 58-year old landlord has been arrested and docked for the alleged  assault on Barrister Margaret Chukwunyelu-Ilo.
The landlord, Ayodele is facing multiple charges, including assault by dragging the lawyer’s car key with her hand and pushing her down.
The charges read:
“That you, Olumide Michael Ayodele ‘m’ on the 27th October, 2025, at about 1030hrs at No.14, Adeogun Street, off Jibowu Road, New – Oko-Oba, Agege Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by removing the cut-out of the electricity supply of your tenant, Barrister Margaret Chukwunyelu-Ilo Esq. and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 168(1) (d) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Olumide Michael Ayodele ‘m’ on the 8th November, 2025 at about 1200hrs at the aforementioned Magisterial District did assault your tenant, Barrister Margaret Chukwunyelu-Iio Esq. by dragging her car key from her hand and pushing her down and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 170(1)(a)(b)(2) and punishable under Section 172 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.”
COUNT III:”That you, Olumide Michael Ayodele ‘m’ on the same date and time in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did assault one Olawuyi Qudus Olaide ‘m’ a driver to your tenant, Barrister Margaret Chukwunyelu-Ilo Esq. by beating him with a hammer and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 170(1)(a)(b)(2) and punishable under Section 172 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.”
COUNT IV:”That you, Olumide Michael Ayodele ‘m’ on the same date and time in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did malicious damage one door, one Nokia phone valued One Hundred and Sixty Thousand Naira (N160,000.00) and tore some clothes, properties of one of your tenants, Barrister Margaret Chukwunyelu-Ilo Esq. and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 350 of Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.
COUNT V: “That you, Olumide Michael Ayodele ‘m’ on the 11th day of March 2026 at about 0130hrs in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did sexually harass your tenant, Barrister Margaret Chukwunyelu-I’lo Esq. and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 264 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.”
COUNT VI:”That you, Olumide Michael Ayodele ‘m’ on the 13 January, 2026, at about 0900hrs did prevent the course of Justice by failing to report back to the Police after being granted administrative ball on the 6th January, 2026, and you thereby committed an offence punishabie under Section 97(3) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to give a date for hearing for enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offences.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
