Landlord Dumped By Wife, Commits Suicide

A landlord, simply identified as Mukaila, has reportedly committed suicide after he was dumped by his wife after 10 years of marriage.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Community Road in Obadore area of Lagos where the late Mukaila built a house and resided with his family.

It was gathered that the deceased had warned his wife, Ronke, that he will commit suicide if her threat to dump him was real. Last Saturday, Ronke eventually parked her belongings and moved out of their matrimonial home to an unknown location.

When Mukaila eventually returned home and discovered that Ronke had moved out with their children as she had threatened, he then went to a shop in the area, bought a Sniper insecticide and drank half of the content which eventually killed him inside his apartment.

According to the residents, before he drank the poisonous substance he wrote a suicide note which revealed why he took his life. He blamed the whole thing on his wife who dumped him as he indicated that he took his life out of frustration.
However, it was learnt that their marriage was having challenges over suspicions of infidelity and Ronke threatened to quit which she eventually did on Saturday.
The marriage produced three children and the deceased was buried immediately according to his faith.
When P.M.EXPRESS correspondent visited the area, some of the residents expressed shock over what happened and blamed the deceased for taking his precious life because of a woman.
At the Igando Police Station, the police said that they were not aware of the matter because such incident was not reported at the station.
