It was like a feast of anger between a landlord Oluwakayode Salami and his tenant, Hyacinth Okeiyi over house rent which resulted in both engaging in a public fight.
Both the landlord and the tenant had their grievances against each other and they therefore engaged in a public brawl to settle the scores.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the tenant was angry that he moved into the landlord’s house and his condition became worse to the extent he could not afford to pay rent. The landlord on the other was angry that Okeiyi lived in his house and had not paid rent over a period of time.
On the day incident happened, the landlord had exchange of words with the tenant which resulted into public fighting that involved their wives and some other tenants.
However, they ran out of luck as the police rounded them up and detained them at the police station.
They were charged before Ejigbo Magistrates court for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace.
The six suspects pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.K.J. Layeni granted them bail in the sum of N50,000 each with one surety in like sum.
They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 3 January, 2018.
