The widow, Eni John Mark alleged that her Landlord, Okunbanjo has been threatening and harassing her after her husband died in an attempt to sleep with her.
The incident happened at Daniel Street in Orisumbare area of Shasha Lagos where they reside.

When our correspondent contacted Okubanjo, he denied the allegation, claiming the woman was only taking advantage of his kindness to blackmail him. He said it was unfortunate the woman he asked not to pay rent for over 18 months after her husband died will be making such allegation.

But the mother of two kids insisted and narrated that her husband, John Mark had an accident and later died.
She said after his burial in Akwa Ibom State, she returned to Lagos to take care of the kids he left behind.
She said when their rent expired, she went to pay the landlord but he asked her to keep the rent and told her that he was willing to allow her to continue to live in his house in as much as she would not bring men into the house.

He said it was part of assistance he wanted to render to her over the death of her husband.

The woman said barely few months after that, the landlord will come in the early morning between 1.00 am and 2.00 am, knocking on her door and ask her to open the door for him to come in and she always refused.
She said he had tried it several times and at a time, she summoned the courage to challenge and warned him seriously.

Mrs. John Mark said because of her refusal to sleep with him, he decided to make sure she had no peace. And she had to report him to the Baale of the community and the police in Idimu.

Okubanjo admitted that he has appetite for women but not those living in his house.
He said her late husband was his good tenant who later died.
He said when the wife returned from their village after the burial, he refused to collect any rent from her and asked her to move out.
He said after much pleading, he gave her condition that since she was now a widow, she should not bring men into his house.
He said her female friends come to the house and stole his property and when he caught one of them, she started making those allegations.
He said she has reported him to the Baale and the police which he said he was ready to explain what happened.
On the issue of coming to the widow in the wee hours, Okubanjo said he usually do so only to check on her to know what was happening and not to enter her room to sleep with her.
The landlord said he has now asked her to move out and have not given her official notice to quit to that effect.
