A 41-year old landlord, Sodiq Gbadamosi, and his wife, Atinuke Gbadamosi, 34, have landed in trouble for allegedly stealing a tenant’s property worth N2m in Oyo State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the couple has been arrested and charged before an Iyaganku Magistrate Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, over the alleged conduct likely to cause breach of public peace, conspiracy and theft.
The incident happened on 29th March, 2025, in Eruwa, Ido area of Ibadan, where they reside.
The prosecutor, Inspector Adeshina Folaranmi, told the Court that the defendants committed the offences by invading the apartment and stealing a solar fan, power generator, television, power bank, laptop, and hot plate valued at N2 million, belonging to the complainant, Christopher Aina.
He also alleged that the defendants unlawfully recorded a video of Aina without his consent thereby committed an offences, which contravened Sections 390(9) and 249(d) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
However, the defendants pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Oluwabusayo Osho, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 18th September, 2025, for hearing while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
