Concerned Lagosians and drivers plying Lagos metropolis, as part of their contribution to the ongoing celebrations of the 25 years anniversary of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, have commended the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for doing his  best in moving LASTMA to a greater heights.
They hailed the Governor for turning the agency better than the way he met it with massive investment and his foresight in the appointment of Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki who they described as the best LASTMA General Manager Lagos ever produced.
They said prior to Sanwo-Olu’s assumption of office in 2019, public hatred and complaints about LASTMA personnel operations such as alleged unbridled extortions, excessiveness, recklessness, overzealousness, Illegal arrest of motorists, chasing after fleeing vehicles, which sometimes caused accidents and deaths, were very rampant.
But today Governor Sanwo-Olu have succeeded in eliminating those vices with massive investment in the agency and the appointment of Bakare-Oki who has succeeded in redeeming the once battered image of the LASTMA and moving its operations to international standard.
Some of those who spoke with our correspondent across Lagos metropolis about the new LASTMA stated that they were the one who had been complaining about the agency’s operations for years but that today they are no longer complaining because Governor Sanwo-Olu has solved all almost all the public complaints about LASTMA with the provisions of  public complaints free Toll lines 080000527862 or 080000Lastma which have helped greatly in reaching the authority anytime they were arrested for unjustifiable reasons, training and retraining of personnel and the appointment of Oki who they  claimed have done magic in restoring the lost glory of the LASTMA just within a year and few months of assuming office.
They further showered encomiums on Sanwo-Olu for being the one who finally put a stop to public complaints about LASTMA operations in Lagos since its creation 25 years ago and that history will continue to remember him for liberating drivers.
Mr. John Omenai, a transporter, said; “We drivers are the one who had been complaining about LASTMA personnel’s illegal operations and extortions for years, but today Governor Sanwo-Olu have killed our complaints with massive investment in the LASTMA and the appointment of Bakare-Oki, who had managed the agency well with innovations and instilling discipline on his personnel without fear or favour.
Mr. Elijah Obioma, a driver also added, “We thanked Governor Sanwo-Olu for supporting the General Manager,  Bakare-Oki to succeed in transforming the LASTMA to acceptable standard and stopping all the vices that were denting the image of LASTMA.”
