The ongoing Lagos Divisional Football League has reached the super eight stage after three weeks of the league.
The 2021/22 LDFA League which kicked off three weeks ago has ended but only top four teams in each group booked a place in the super eight which begins tomorrow”Thursday” at the Railway Institute football pitch, Yaba, Lagos.
In the fixtures pairing released by the organisers, Wazbak face Amsterdam by 10am, while Triple battle Melody by 12noon.
Action continues on Friday Tico confront Tinubu FC by 10am, while Staruf tackle Grace Sports Channel FC by 12noon.
Winners in each match would qualify for the semi final stage sheduled for Saturday according to the organisers.
Reacting to the super eight fixtures, Tinubu coach, Cosmos Ubani admitted that their match against Tico would be tough but noted that his boys are fully ready to go for victory.
“This is a crucial stage and every team has equal chance to reach the semi final stage.We are aware of our opponents and they are a good side but we are equally determined to win the game because our target is to reach the final stage of the league,”he said.
Chairman of Lagos Divisional Football Association, Akintunde Tinubu expressed gratitude for the hitch free league and commended the teams for the spirit of sportmanship exhibited throughout the league.
“This is a crucial stage and we want to urge all the eight teams to play the game according to the rules and regulations.
“We are going to monitor all the matches and ensure that all the teams enjoy fair officiating throughout the super eight.I wish all of them best of luck,”he said.
