Engr Felix Odimegwu – The Transition Committee Chairman of Nnewi South Local Government Area, Anambra State, has commended Chief Okey Ojimba for his philanthropic gestures as he empowered some people in the community.

The LG boss commended Chief Okey Ojimba in his speech as he commissioned a set of seven (7) mini vans donated by Chief Ojimba who hailed from UmuOborogu, Osumenyi which happened to be under his local council area.

He eulogised the donor for specifically targeting the growing need of farmers within the area to move their produce from the farms to adjoining markets or exchange points, together with other minor haulage services around the LGA and environs.

Engr Felix Odimegwu said that at the outset of his administration that he had envisaged a robust community based approach towards the development of Nnewi South LGA, which was in line with the “think home” philosophy of Governor Willie Obiano’s administration. He said that he never knew that a harvest of enduring inputs will follow that passionate call.

Engr Odimegwu told the audience that he was also happy to commission a Skills Acquisition Centre at Osumenyi last week, built and equipped by Osumenyi Development Union (Women’s wing).

The Council boss hinted that under his watch Nnewi South LGA had witnessed sponsored medical outreaches and private contributions towards the provision of public utilities such as road constructions, donation of teaching aides to public schools and other remarkable community based efforts and partnerships – all to the betterment of the LGA.

Engr Odimegwu said sincerely that he was encouraged by the uncommon show of support from town unions and public spirited sons and daughters of Nnewi South LGA. He said that Chief Okey Ojimba, Mrs. Mbonu, Chief Fred Odukwe, Chief Barth Obidike and a host of others have written their names in gold with their philanthropic gestures.

In closing, he said that words cannot adequately express his depth of appreciation to them all. He prayed that greater good shall never cease from their endeavours.  He said that the realisation of a better Nnewi South LGA remained their collective responsibility, and they must not relent on that course as that remained one sure way to create the Nnewi South of their dreams.

“Always remember, Anambra is on a Progressive Move and Nnewi South can Never be left behind” Engr Felix Odimegwu said.
