The President General of Orashi National Congress, ONC, Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe, has commended the peaceful and successful conduct of the Rivers State Local Government Elections.
Comrade Emeni Ibe, who doubles as the National President of Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria, commended Rivers people, particularly the people of Ward 9 Ahoada East Local Government Area for their peaceful conduct in the elections.
He made this commendation at his Ogbele Country Home after casting his vote at Unit 001, at Town Hall, Ward 09 in Ahoada East Local Government Area.
Amb Comrade Emeni Ibe described the election as one of the most peaceful in the area, agreeing that the absence of the Police at the Polling Units created an atmosphere devoid of the usual tension associated with elections in the State.
The opinion leader, who described himself as an ambassador of Peace and advocate of democracy, said that it is the only system that offers the needed space for inclusive and wider participation in the political and governance process in the society.
Most Snr Comrade Amb Emeni Ibe commended the courage of the Governor to comply with the Supreme Court landmark Judgement on the legitimate administration of the Local Government system and his genuine desire for due process in the polity,
