Players of the Nigeria’s Super Eagles have said that they will not take any chance in their match against Libya in the AFCON qualifying rounds in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State today.

Nigeria attacker, Moses Simon, called on the Super Eagles supporters to rally behind Manager, Gernot Rohr and his troops in Uyo.

The West Africans play host to Libya in the third round of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations group stage qualifiers this weekend, aiming to rise above their counterparts in Group E.

Nigeria suffered a surprise 2-0 defeat to South Africa in the opening round before a 3-0 thumping of the Seychelles in Victoria.

With games away to both Libya and Bafana Bafana to follow, Simon knows the importance of their home match against the Mediterranean Knights as they set their sights on AFCON qualification.

“We all want to be part of next year’s Africa Cup of Nations,” Simon said.

“We will take our chances in both games and give our best. We urge our fans to wear green and white and fill up the stadium on match day.”

Simon has scored one goal in three appearances for Levante since his move from KAA Gent in August.

Stand –in skipper Ahmed Musa and 21 other invited Super Eagles are in town for the crucial match.

The arrivals enabled Coach Gernot Rohr and crew to organize a full training session for the team.

Goalkeepers Francis Uzoho, Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Daniel Akpeyi, as well as defenders William Ekong, Semi Ajayi, Leon Balogun, Olaoluwa Aina, Jamilu Collins, Abdullahi Shehu, Chidozie Awaziem and Kenneth Omeruo are among those at the Ibom Meridien Hotels and Resort.

There are also midfielders Wilfred Ndidi, Samuel Kalu, Ogenyi Onazi, John Ogu and Oghenekaro Etebo, and forwards Isaac Success, Alex Iwobi, Moses Simon, Henry Onyekuru and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Also in town are Russia –based wing back Bryan Idowu and China –based forward Odion Ighalo.

The Mediterranean Knights top Group E with four points (from their defeat of Seychelles and draw with Libya), while South Africa (winner over Nigeria before they drew with Libya) are second and Nigeria, who lost to South Africa and defeated Seychelles, lie third.

A 54-man delegation from Libya team arrived  Uyo on Thursday. They came into the country aboard a chartered aircraft on Thursday.

Match officials from the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as the referee assessor from Mali and the security officer from South Africa, also arrived Nigeria on Thursday.
