The All Progressives Congress, APC, has urged the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Sir Willie Obiano, to be more proactive in running the state, stating that the Governor would have done better if he had listened to the citizenry and the party all these while.

Reacting to the last press statement of the Governor over the debilitating  security situation in the state, the Director for Media and Publicity, Senator Andy Uba Governorship Campaign Organisation, SAUGCO, Hon. Victor Afam Ogene, stated that it is sad that it took the intervention of the APC for Governor  Obiano to address the state on the deteriorating security situation.

“These killings had been going on for a long time but our governor looked on, apparently clueless on how to react.”

“The only reason the Governor spoke when he did was because Senator Uba had in a strongly worded statement urged the Governor to rise up to the challenge and rescue the state. We thank him for listening to us, but urge him to be more proactive next time around.”

“Now that our dear governor has finally spoken, it is our earnest hope that we shall move from speeches to implementing practical solutions aimed at restoring normalcy.”

“As Chief Security Officer of Anambra State, Governor Obiano must apply a hands on approach in tackling the menace of insecurity threatening to drown the state. In fact, the situation is so dire that if it requires seeking help from colleague governors and the federal authorities, Governor Obiano must not hesitate to do so.”

Hon. Ogene reiterated that the APC in the state would continue to stand by and fight for the well-being of ndi Anambra as a true opposition party that aligns with the people.

“APC would be very proactive and responsive to the plight of ndi Anambra through good governance if elected on November 6,” Hon. Ogene assured.
