Lagos and London, two cities where he lived would play host in the final funeral rites of late national judo and weightlifting champion, Chief Lukman Jinadu.According to the programme for the burial of the late national star, who died in London last month, his remains would be interred in London, the British capital next Wednesday, December 16.
In the programme signed by the widow of the deceased judoka, Mrs. Bisi Jinadu, the remains would be committed to mother earth at Wollensbrook Cemetery and Crematorium, Hertford Road, Hoddesdon, London.
The ceremony would take place at 1.30 pm.
The Lagos leg of events will take place four days later on Sunday, December 20, when a special fidau prayer would be held for the deceased. The prayer according to the invite sent to P.M.EXPRESS by Friend and confidant of Lukman, Mr. Dominic Enyoghasim and signed on behalf of the family by Comrade Junaid Hakeem would take place at 13, Ramoni Street, off Lawanson Road by Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Lagos branch. The programme will begin at 11 am.
Jinadu distinguished himself as a judoka and weightlifter before migrating to the United Kingdom in the eighties. He died on November 22 in London during a brief illness. He was popularly known as Rambo in his active days as a judoka.
He had a flourishing security company in the UK before his demise. Until his death, Jinadu who marked his 60th birthday on June 19 this year was the Baagbile of Gbagura, Abeokuta. He is survived by two children and a wife.
