The Lagos Local Government chairmanship candidate of Labour Party for Igando/Ikotun Local Government, Honorable Adewale .S. Adenigbagbe has said that his mission for the position is to rescue the Council from the  bad governance it has suffered over the years.
Adenigbagbe stated this in his office where he had a chat with the press over his ambition.
He regretted that the council has suffered so much neglect in the past where there is virtually absence of governance in the area to show that there was any leadership .
Adenigbagbe said there is no feasible development in the area, as there are bad roads as residents do not have access to their houses, no  security, social infrastructure and  integration of the residents.
He said he was moved after the residents both indigienes and non indigienes who are frustrated on the way things have gone so bad, who asked him to come out to rescue the Council and he listened to them.
He said his mission is for the welfare of the people and if elected, his administration will focus in the priority areas of bringing every body together to work as one family to move the council forward.
He said the first step he had taken so far was to appoint a non indigiene as his vice to give everybody in the area  sense of belonging.
He said the youths empowerment programme is one of his cardinal agenda and said he will establishing ICT centres where the youths will acquire knowledge and will be assisted by providing financial support for them to be self employed.
He also said the artisans and market women will be taken care of  by assisting them to access soft loans for their businesses and ensure they are involved in the new agenda of transforming the Council.
Adenigbagbe  said he was sure he will win the election because the residents have lost confidence in the APC administration who has brought hardship and frustration to the people through deliberate neglect.
He noted that he was aware that APC does not believe in voting,  said that their rigging strategy has been exposed because those  who were part of the rigging have leaked their secret and are tired and no longer with them.
“The youths will resist the rigging and every vote will now count as their secret has been exposed” Adenigbagbe said.
On  his choice of Political Party, he said the people are tired of APC and PDP and so the Labour Party is the viable Party the people are looking up to and they will massively vote for the Party.
He noted that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is a great Leader who champion the course of the Party but said along the line, the fellowship distorted his great vision and the people have now turned against the APC.
He commended and thanked the residents for their massive support since he was nominated by his Party and promised that he will not fail them if elected.
