Man, 20, Arraigned For Stealing Bundle Of Clothes Worth N7m Inside Boutique

A 20-year old man, Daniel Bamgbose, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly burgling a boutique shop and stealing clothes worth N7m. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 11th of March, 2026 at Ikola Area, Meiran, Lagos where the boutique belonging to Victor Emeka is located.

 

According to the Police, the suspect broke into the shop in the early hours of the morning, stole the items and escaped.

The complainant reported what happened to the Police at Meiran Division. The Police operatives moved into action, eventually arrested the suspect and detained him at the station for interrogation over the alleged offence.

 

After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charges read:

 

Count I: That you, DANIEL BAMGBOSE “M” on the 11th of March at about 0250hrs at Ikola Area, Meiran, Lagos in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did attempt to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 406 of the criminal law of Lagos State Nigeria 2015.”

Count II:” That you, DANIEL BAMGBOSE “M” on the 8th February, 2026, at about 0400hrs at Ikola Area, Lagos in the aforementioned magisterial district, did break into a boutique at Ikola Road, Meiran and stole bundle of clothes valued N7,000,000 property of one Victor Emeka and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 309 of the criminal law of Lagos State Nigeria 2015.”

 

Count III:”That you, DANIEL BAMGBOSE “M” on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district, did steal bundle of clothes property of one Victor Emeka and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 287 of the criminal law of Lagos State Nigeria 2015.”

 

However, he pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Supol Josephine Ihkayere, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
