A 20-year old man, Abubakar Abdullahi, has been arrested by the Police operatives from the Jigawa State Command for allegedly killing his 17-year-old girlfriend, Habiba Samaila and dumping her corpse inside water well.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Koral Village, Garki Local Government Area of the State, where they reside.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, who said that the suspect was alleged to have been a boyfriend of the deceased and he was last seen together with the deceased.
He stated: “On 15th August, 2023, at about 2000hrs, one Malam Samaila ‘m’ aged 50years of Beguwa village, reported at Ringim Police Station that on 14th August, 2023 at about 2000hrs, his biological daughter one Habiba Samaila ‘f’ age 17years of the same address, left his house and all efforts to locate her proved abortive”.
DSP Shiisu further stated that investigations revealed that on the same date, the said Habiba was seen with one Abubakar Abdullahi, 20, of Koral village Garki LGA, who happened to be her boyfriend.
He stated that on receipt of the information, the suspect was immediately arrested and and during interrogation, he made useful information and afterwards on 16th August, 2023, at about 6pm, her decayed body was found deposited in a well, tied up with a rope.
He explained that after evacuation, the body was taken to General Hospital, Ringim, for medical examination and autopsy reportt after she was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
The image maker stated that the suspect will be charged before the Court for the alleged murder, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment after the conclusion of investigation by the Police.
