A 20-year old man, Miracle Ehimiasusoe, has been arrested in Lagos State for allegedly sexually assaulting his neighbour’s 2-year old girl by inserting his finger and causing bruises in her private part.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Abioye Street, off Orimilade area of Ogba, where they reside.
The Police at Area G Command, Ogba, who arrested the suspect, alleged that he lured the girl to his apartment, locked his door from inside, then removed her pants and inserted his finger into her private part before he was caught.
But by then, he had already injured her and the girl was taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment while the matter was reported to the Police. He was then arrested and detained at the Command for interrogation over the conduct.
After thorough interrogation and having been found culpable, the Police then charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
However, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asking the Court to give a date and refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, ordered his remand in the Correctional Centre pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice while directing the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned till 13th December, 2022, for mention for the report of DPP’s advice to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
