Man, 20, R*pes & Impregnates Neighbour’s Girl, 12

A 20-year old man, Agbebiyi Temitope, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he allegedly engaged his neighbour’s 12-year old girl in a sex romp, impregnated her in the process and their secret romance was exposed. 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the girl’s parents has handed him over to the Police.

The incident happened at Wahab Larinde Street, Mafoluku area of Oshodi, Lagos State, where they reside.

The Police alleged the suspect, Temitope, to have been secretly engaging the girl in the romp, warned her not to tell anyone about it and she kept it to herself. 

However,  when the girl became sick and a test was conducted on her, the result showed that she was pregnant. She was asked who was responsible and she mentioned Temitope’s name. 

The matter was reported to the Police in the area and he was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation over the conduct. 

At the Gender Section, he reportedly admitted to have slept with her but said he wondered how she became pregnant because of her age.  

The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.

When he was arraigned, the plea was not taken following a motion moved by the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice. 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, ordered his remand in the Correctional Centre pending when the DPP’s report will be ready and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.

The matter was adjourned till 13th July, 2022, for report of the DPP to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
