A 21-year old man, Samson Abari, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly luring and engaging his neighbour’s 13-year old girl in sex after fondling breasts and she got confused.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Abari, has been arrested and charged for defilement under the Criminal law of the State.

The incident happened on 28th December,2024 at Adeshafe Street, Council Bus $top, Idimu area of Lagos, where they reside.

According to the Police, the suspect lured the victim and used words of mouth to confuse her before he fondled her breasts and she got more confused and then he penetrated her.

However, the matter got exposed after the victim raised alarm and claimed that she was lured into the act without her consent. Thus, the matter was reported to the Police; the suspect was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

The charge read:

“That you, Samson Abari ‘m’, on the 28th day of December 2024, at about 1530hours at Adeshafe Street, Council, Idimu Road, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did defile the victim 13 years old by having sexual intercourse with her and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

However, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.

The Presiding Magistrate Mrs. O. Kusanu, ordered the defendant to be remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.

The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s legal advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
