A 23-year old man, Shittu Suleimon, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly touching the buttocks of a 12-year old girl.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Shittu Suleimon, has been arrested and charged for the alleged sexual assault under the Criminal Law of the State.
The incident happened at Abba Johnson Crescent, Adeniyi Jones area of Ikeja, Lagos.
The matter was reported to the Police at Ikeja Division. The suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct against the victim.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, Shittu Suleimon ‘m’, on the 30th day of November, 2025 at about 0300hrs at Abba Johnson Crescent, Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja Lagos, in the Ikeja Magisterial district, did touch the buttocks of the victim ‘f age 12years old, with your hand without her onsent and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 135 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos Staté 2015.”
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
