A 24-year old man, Isaac Oladele, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly stealing property worth over N7.5m belonging to a company, Yennie Godie Eaglet Ltd.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Oladele, has been arrested and charged before the Court for the alleged stealing under the Criminal Law of the State.
The incident happened on 24th and 28th August, 2025 at No. 53, Unity Road, Off Peace Estate, Command area of Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect went where the items were kept, stole them and escaped before the complainant knew that they were missing, hence the complainant reported the matter to the Police for investigation.
After thorough interrogation in the course of investigation, the Police found the suspect culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, ISAAC OLADELE “M” between 24th August, 2025 and 28th August, 2025 at about 0800hrs at 53, Unity Road Off Peace Estate, Command area of Lagos, Ikeja Magisterial District, did steal cash of N573,000 and four generators value at N7,000,000 all total N7,573,000 (Seven Million, Five Hundred and Seventy-Three Thousand Naira Only), properties of Yennie Godie Eaglet Ltd and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted her bail with sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
