A 24-year old man, Abubakar Temitope, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he allegedly lured a 12-year old girl in sex romp and he was caught in the act.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Lafiage Street, Lekki-Ajah area of Lagos State, where they reside.
The suspect, Temitope, reportedly returned in the afternoon when the parents of the girl had gone to work, lured her into his apartment and engaged her into the act.
However, the whole thing later got exposed and her parents were informed. They asked the girl what happened and she revealed how the suspect lured her into his apartment and defiled her in the process.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and the suspect, Temitope, was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Command for interrogation over the conduct.
During interrogation, he reportedly admitted to have slept with her but with her consent. But the victim denied it and insisted that she was lured into the act.
The Police found Temitope culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
When he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Victor Eruada asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice since the victim is still a minor.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M. O. Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody without an option of bail and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned till 23rd April, 2022, for report of the DPP to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over Jurisdiction.
