Man, 24, Caught After Stealing Lady’s Phone & Using It To Obtain N.5m Credit Online

A 24-year old man, Samuel Onyedikachi, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he allegedly stole a phone belonging to a lady, Adaku Mmadukar and used the phone to obtain  N.5m credit online.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Onyedikachi, was tracked, eventually arrested and charged for the alleged conspiracy and stealing over his conduct.
The incident happened on 9th April, 2024 at about 1530hrs, at Adebayo Street, Ailegun Road, Ejigbo, Lagos Lagos.
According to the Police,  the complainant lost her phone, went to the Police at Ejigbo Division and reported. The Police moved into action, eventually tracked the phone and then arrested and detained the suspect at the station  for interrogation.
During interrogation, the Police scooped that the suspect used the phone to borrow money through Palmpay online. And he admitted to have used the phone to borrow money.
The Police found him culpable and charged before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of IMPRISONMENT.
The charges read:
That you, Samuel Onyedikachi and one other at large, on the 9th day of April, 2024 at about 1530hrs, at No 4, Adebayo Street, Ailegun Road, Ejigbo, Lagos State, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
Count II: That you, Samuel Onyedikachi and one other at large, on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did steal Volvo Handset valued One Hundred and Sixty Thousand Naira (N160,000.00), property of one Adaku Mmadukar ‘f and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 287 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
Count III: That you, Samuel Onyedikachi and one other at large, on the same date, time and place, in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did use one Volvo handset to obtain credit facility of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000.00) from Palmpay, property of one Adaku Mmadukar ‘f’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 316 (1) of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor,  Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate,  K.A. Ariyo, granted him bail him with two sureties, sum who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions
