A 25-year old man, Olalekan Kehinde, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he allegedly lured a 4-year old girl and inserted his finger into her private part.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ladiga Street, Pako Bus Stop, Ipaja area of Lagos, where they reside.
According to Police sources, the suspect lured the little girl, molested her and warned her not to tell anyone including her parents.
However, it got exposed when one of their neighbours, who saw when the girl raised alarm, confronted her and she revealed what happened.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and he was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court of Law.
However, when he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Victor Eruada, asked the Court to give a date and refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M. O. Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned till 27th February, 2022, for report of the DPP to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
