A 25-year old man, Akinbode Ridwan, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he allegedly lured a 16-year old girl into his apartment and engaged her in sex romp after fondling and sucking her breasts, which got her confused.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Adewale Adeneya Street, Bariga area of Lagos, where they reside.
The suspect, Ridwan, was alleged to have lured the victim to his apartment, used words of mouth to confuse her before he fondled her breasts and also sucked them, she made her became more confused and he defiled her in the process.
However, after the act, the victim was said to have regained her senses and reported what happened to her parents saying that she was raped by the suspect.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and he was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Police Command for interrogation over his conduct.
During interrogation, the suspect was said to have admitted to have slept with the victim but with her consent and as such he did not force her contrary to the claims by the victim.
However, the Police found him culpable because the victim is still a minor and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
The Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, ordered his remand in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when the DPP’s report will be ready and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till 21st February, 2023, for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
