Man, 26, Arraigned For Defiling Neighbour’s Daughter, 4

A 26-year old man, Timothy Akposi, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly engaging his neighbour’s 4-year old girl in sex and inflicting injury on her private part in the process.

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 9th day of January 2026, at Johnson Street, Off Kajola Street, Ojodu – Lagos, where they reside.

 

According to the Police, the suspect lured the victim, forcefully engaged her in sex and injured her private part due to forced penetration. As a result of the pain, the victim cried all through and later reported what happened to her parents.

 

The matter was reported to the Police in the area and the suspect was arrested. From there, he was transferred to the Gender Section of the State Command for interrogation over the alleged offence.

 

After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charge read:

“That you, Timothy Akposi ‘m’, on the 9th day of January 2026, at Johnson Street, Off Kajola Street, Ojodu – Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did defile the victim ‘f, 4years old, by having sexual intercourse with her and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigena, 2015.”

 

However, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
