Man, 26, Faces Rape Charge After Sex With Lady, 20

A 26-year old man, Dolapo Akinlade, has landed in trouble in Lagos after he reportedly engaged a 20-year old lady in sex romp and was later arrested for penetrating her.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Akinlade got arrested after the lady alleged that she was raped because she did not consent to Akinlade inserting his dick into her private part. Hence, she reported the alleged rape against at the Isokoko Police Division and Akinlade was then arrested.

The Police did not state clearly how Akinlade actually raped the victim but stated that on 13th September, 2019, he raped the victim by inserting his dick into her private part.
He was later charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for statutory rape and the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, ordered the defendant to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail. The Court then directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice because of the nature of the matter.
The matter was adjourned till 14th November, 2019, when the Court was expected to have the report of the DPP’s advice while Akinlade will remain in prison custody till then.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the matter may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds him culpable and recommends that he should be tried for rape. The alleged offence attracts several years of imprisonment if he is found guilty before Court.
