A 28-year old man, Daniel Christian, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly abducting a 16-year old boy  and engaging him in anal sex for three days in order to satisfy his sexual desires.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect,  Christian, has been arrested and charged for the alleged abduction, conduct likely to cause breach of public peace and sexual assault under the Criminal Laws of the State.

According to the Police,  on 5th September, 2024, the matter was transferred from Iba Police Station to the office of Gender Unit, Lagos State Police Command by the boy’s grand mother, who resides at FESTAC Town, Lagos State, on behalf of the victim.

The complainant alleged that Daniel Christian ‘m’ of No. 10, Ajewole Street, ljede Ikorodu, Lagos State, conducted himself in a bad manner by having anal sex with the boy anytime he wishes to. That the said Daniel Christian allegedly abducted the boy from the house for three days and engaged him in sex through his anus.

Thus, the Police traced, eventually arrested and detained the suspect at the Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.

The charges read:

That you, Daniel Christian ‘m’ on the 5th day of September, 2024, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did sexually assault the victim thereby committed an offence punishable under the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.

“That you, Daniel Christian ‘m’, on the same date, time did conduct yourself in a manner to cause breach of public peace by taking away the victim without the consent of his grandmother and thereby committed an offence and the punishable under Section 168(d) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

However, the Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector John Iberedem asking the Court to refer the matter to DPP for legal advice.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.

The matter was adjourned till 22nd October, 2024, for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
