A 28-year old man, Algoni Mohammed, has been arrested in Lagos State for allegedly engaging an 11-year old boy in anal sex and injuring him in the process.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Akinwumi Street, Gbagada area of Lagos, where they reside.
The suspect, Mohammed, landed in trouble after he allegedly lured the boy into his apartment, forcefully penetrated his anus and injured him in the process as he was said to have bled from the anus.
The alleged dastardly act was reported to the Police in the area and he was subsequently arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation over the conduct.
During interrogation, the suspect, Mohammed, admitted to have done so but with the boy’s consent, which the victim denied. The boy then narrated how he lured him to his apartment and forced him to remove his clothes before he penetrated him.
The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is found guilty before the Court.
However, the Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned after the prosecutor,  Supol Akeem Raji, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, ordered his remand in custody without an option of bail, pending when the DPP’s report will be ready and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
