A 30-year old man, Nnaemeka Azubuike has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he allegedly sneaked into a widow’s apartment for sex romp but was arrested as a thief who stole a phone belonging to a woman in the house.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Azubuike, has been arrested and charged for the alleged stealing
The incident happened at Unity Street, off Governor’s Road, Ikotun area of Lagos, where the widow resides.
According to the residents, the suspect, Azubuike, who works at the Airport and still single, met the young widow whose husband died after three children and started dating her. And he usually sneaks into her apartment for sex and sometimes sleep till the next day before he will leave for work.
However, he ran out of luck on 25th June,2024, when he went to the widow’s house. That night a thief broke the window net of the widow’s female neighbour, Olubunmi Ojo and stole her phone at mid night.
In the morning, one of the neighbours went to Ikotun Police Division and reported that a thief broke their neighbour’s window net and stole her Tecno Android phone worth N150,000 and he suspected that it was Azubuike because he saw him very late that particular day.
Thus, the Police moved into action, arrested Azubuike and detained him at the station for the alleged theft. During interrogation, Azubuike told the Police that he was not a thief and that he works at the Airport, only came to the house to have sex with the widow.
The Police asked him to contact his boss or any member of his family but he declined and told the Police that they did not know his mission of going to the widow’s house.
The Police insisted that he was the thief because he went to the house when the item got missing and found him culpable for stealing the phone.
Consequently, Azubuike was charged before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Miss K.A. Ariyo, granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 12th July, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
