Man, 30, Arrested For Selling Hard Drugs To Criminals Inside Alaba Rago Market

A 30-year old man, Rasaq Abiodun, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly selling substances suspected to be hard drugs to criminals at the notorious Alaba Rago Market in Ojo area of Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect,  Abiodun, has been arrested and charged for selling hard drugs.
The incident happened on 24th February, 2025, at the market, where the Police operatives from Ojo Division caught him while on routine monitoring in the area.
According to the Police, the suspect concealed the substances suspected to be Ice hard drugs while attempting to sell some. The Police sensed it and apprehended him for interrogation.
During interrogation, they discovered some quantity of the hard drugs in his possession and so he was detained at the station for further interrogation over the alleged offence.
The Police eventually found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ojo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, Rasaq Abiodun ‘M’, on the 24th day of February, 2025 at about 1200hrs at Alaba Rago Market, Ojo, in the Ojo Magisterial District, did have in your possession ice suspected to be hard drugs and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 329 (A) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Esther Adesulu, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.M. Ogun, granted him bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
