Police operatives from the SCID, Yaba, Lagos have arrested a 30-year old man, Nasiru Usman, for allegedly engaging a neighbour’s 4-year old daughter in sex.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ghetto corner, Oniru, Victoria Island area of Lagos, where they reside.
The Police alleged that the suspect lured the victim to his apartment, removed her pants and penetrated her private part before he was caught in the act.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area. He was arrested and then transferred to the SCID for investigation, during which the Police reportedly confirmed that he actually committed the alleged offence.
Having been found culpable, the Police charged him before the Yaba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.

The Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Thomas Nurudeen, asking the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. P. E.Nwaka, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
