Man, 31, Docked For Vandalizing Houses & Carting Away Property Worth N35m

A 31-year old man, Rasaki Suleman, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly vandalizing a house and carting away property worth N35m belonging to Olukinni Folusho to sell as scraps.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 11th June, 2025, at Sarata Street, Royal Estate, Isheri Olofin Idimu, Lagos, where the house is located.
According to the Police, the suspect conspired with others now at large, vandalized the building and carted away iron rods and aluminium windows worth the said amount.
However, the matter was reported to the Police at Idimu Division. The suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
COUNT I: “That you, Rasaki Suleman ‘M’ on the 11th June, 2025, at noon at No. 32, Sarata Street, Royal Estate, Isheri Olofin Idimu, in the Lagos magisterial district, did conspire with others now at large to commit felony to wit breaking and stealing and thereby committed an offence and punishable under Section 411 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT II:” That you, Rasaki Suleman ‘M’ on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district, did break and enter into the building to commit felony and thereby committed an offense punishable under Section 309 (1) of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT III:”That you, Rasaki Suleman ‘M’ and others now at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district, did dishonestly steal iron burglary proof and window aluminum all valued the sum of (N35, 000,000) Thirty Five Million Naira, property of one Olukinni Folusho ‘M’ and thereby committed an offence under Section 280 (1) (a) and punishable under Section 287 (7) of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.A. Popoola, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
