A 32-year-old man, Innocent Felix, was on Thursday arraigned before a Lagos Magistrate Court for alleged involvement in the kidnap of a 3-year-old child in Agege.
The defendant appeared before Magistrate Mrs. O. Kusanu on a one-count charge filed by the Commissioner of Police.
According to the charge sheet, the alleged incident occurred on August 9, 2026, at about 7:00pm. The location was given as Mangoro Road, in front of Palm View Hotel, Mangoro, Agege, within the Lagos magisterial district.
Prosecution alleged that Innocent Felix ‘M’ kidnapped one girl, F’, aged 3 years. The offence was said to have contravened Section 271 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.
The charge sheet was prepared by IPO CPL Ridwan Akindele of Dopemu Division, Agege. His contact number was also listed on the document.
In court, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, SP Philip Ademigbuji, asked the court for a date to enable the Police to prove the allegations.
After hearing submissions, Magistrate Kusanu granted the defendant bail. The bail was set at two sureties. The sureties are required to show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment.
The court also ordered that the defendant be remanded in a Correctional Center pending the perfection of his bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned for mention. A new date for the next hearing is expected to be announced by the court.
