It was a nasty experience for the members of Abundant Praise Church, Ikotun area of Lagos, when they converged at the Church for service and were unable to enter the church over faeces poured at the premises.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that an angry neighbour, Ezebunwa Uba, was said to have defecated and poured faeces at the Church premises and the whole place was stinking.
The incident happened at Adebisi Street,  off Governor’s Road, Ikotun area of Lagos, where the church is located
The 32-year old suspect, Uba, was said to be angry with the Pastor and members of the church over an undisclosed issue that stemmed animosity and he felt that the only way to fight them was through pouring the faeces. It was not certain if he was the only person who discharged the huge quantity of faeces poured at the church or he got and brought them to the premises from elsewhere.
For his unruly action, he has been arrested and charged for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace by pouring the faeces at the church premises in order to scare members away.
When the Pastor and members of the church came to the premises for service, they were unable to enter. So they went to the Police at Ikotun Division and reported what happened.
Thus, Uba was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
However,  he pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor,  Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, then told the Court that he was ready for the hearing since he pleaded not guilty but there was a development on the matter.
The prosecutor informed the Court that the complainants said that they wanted to withdraw the matter and go home to resolve it amicably.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. K.A. Ariyo, consequently struck out the matter.
