Man, 33, Docked For Allegedly Stealing N23m Pickup Van

A 33-year-old man, Owowa Oluwasegun, has been arrested and charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court in Lagos State over allegations of conspiracy and stealing of a Mitsubishi L200 pickup valued at N23m belonging to Oladele Michael.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened in February 2026 at Adeyemi Ajayi Street, Borodu Road, Prawo, Ikorodu area of Lagos.
The Police alleged that the defendant  committed  the alleged offence alongside others still at large and he was arrested and detained by the Command’s Tactical Squad covering Areas ‘N’ and ‘H’ of the Lagos State Police Command for investigation.
He was found culpable after thorough investigation and subsequently charged before the Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
COUNT 1: “That you, OWOWA OLUWASEGUN ‘m’ and others at large sometime in the month of February, 2026 at No 2, Adeyemi Ajayi Street, Borodu Road, Prawo Ikorodu area of Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.
COUNT 2: “That you, OWOWA OLUWASEGUN’m’ and others now at large on the same date, time and place at the aforesaid Magisterial District, did steal one unregistered Mistibushi L200 pick up van valued twenty Three Million Naina (N23,000,000.00) only, property of one Oladele Micheal Atolagbe ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 (7) of the criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
However,  he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Josephine Ihkayere, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
