A 35-year old man, Sunday Salawu, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly luring a 15-year old girl to a hotel and engaging her in sex.
P.M.EXPRESS reports the incident happened on 27th September,2025 at Dafola Hotel, located at Olusumbare Shasha, Lagos State.
According to the Police, the suspect confused the victim with words of mouth, took her to the hotel, where he engaged her in sex by penetration.
However, the information leaked to the victim’s parents and the matter was reported to the Police at Ikotun Division. The suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, Sunday Salawu ‘m’ On the 27/9/2025 at Dafola Hotel located at Olusumbare Shasha Lagos State, at about 1700hrs-18yohrs in the Lagos Magisterial District, did sexually assault one girl ‘f 15years old by taking her to Dafola Hotel and penetrating her dick and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 137 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.”
However, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to give a date and refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
