Man, 35, Docked For Inserting Finger Into 3-Month Baby’s Private Part

A 35-year old man, Hamisu Mohammed, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for sexually molesting his 3-month old baby by inserting his finger into her private part in order to satisfy his sexual desires inside the market.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 21st April, 2024, at Gidan Kwali Scrap Market, Ojota area of Lagos, where the baby’s mother went to meet her husband, who eventually molested her in the market.
The man landed in trouble after his wife handed the baby to him in order to go and fetch water. And while the mother was away to fetch the, water,  he allegedly inserted his finger into the baby’s private part in order to satisfy his sexual desires.
The whole thing got exposed when the mother went to bath the baby and discovered whitish substance like water was coming out from her private part. She took the baby to a nurse, who confirmed that her private part was tempered with finger.
The angry mother went to Ogudu Police Division and reported what happened. Thus, her husband was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the State Police Command for interrogation.
After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
However, the Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till 16th July, 2024, for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
