P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 23rd June, 2023.
Police operatives from the Igando Division have arrested Olaiya and charged him before the Court over his unruly conduct at the Palace.
The motive behind the alleged invasion and attack accordingly to the residents was to assassinate Oba Aberejo.
However, the Oba was fortunate to have left when Olaiya stormed the Palace. And in anger for not meeting the Oba, he destroyed the properties and escaped.
The matter was reported to the Police and the operatives moved into action. They later arrested Olaiya and detained him at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct by invading the Palace and destroying properties.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for willful damages.
However, he pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, then asked the Court to give a short date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. K.A. Ariyo, granted Olaiya bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment. The Court also directed that one of the sureties must be a blood relation.
The matter was adjourned till 29th August, 2023, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
