Man, 36, Docked For Allegedly Abducting, Defiling Girl, 14 & Impregnating Her

A 36-year old man, Awofeko Olumayowa, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly abducting a 14-year old girl from her parent’s house, engaging her in sex severally and Impregnating her.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Olumayowa, has been arrested and charged for abduction and defilement under the Criminal Laws of the State.
The incident happened in December, 2024 at Alayaki Close, Amukoko area of Lagos.
According to the Police, the victim carried her school bag and left the house without the consent of her parents and started living with the suspect in Okota area of Lagos while her parents was searching for her.
However, her parents tracked her and eventually discovered that the suspect kept her in his house for sexual satisfaction and impregnated her.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and he was arrested. From there, he was transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
“That you, Awofeko Olumayowa ‘m’ sometime in the month of December, 2024, at Alayaki Close, Amukoko, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did defile the victim by having sexual intercourse with her and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT II:” That you, Awofeko Olumayowa ‘m’ on the 6th day of January, 2025 at Alayaki Close, Amukoko Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial district, did abduct the victim from Amukoko Close to Okota area of Lagos, and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 268 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
The Court did not take his plea when he was following a motion moved by the Prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, ordered the defendant to be remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
