Police operatives have arrested a 36-year old man, Anderson Nnah, after he allegedly sexually molested a 5-year old girl inside his apartment at FESTAC town, Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Nnah, was said to have lured the little girl into his apartment, forcefully engaged her into sex, defiled her in the process and asked her not to tell anybody about what happened.
However, the girl exposed him by telling her parents what happened and when a check was conducted on her, she was found to have been defiled by forceful penetration.
The matter was reported to the Police at FESTAC Town Division and Nnah was arrested. He was later transferred to the SCID, Panti, Yaba, for further investigation.
After investigation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ebute Metta Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
When he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea nor grant him bail after the prosecutor, Inspector Olatunde Kehinde, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
The Presiding Chief Magistrate, Mrs. A.A.Oshoniyi, ordered his remand in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to DPP.
The matter was adjourned pending the outcome of the DPP’s report, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
