A 37-year old man, Emeka Kalu, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly defiling his under aged biological daughter alongside his step daughter and was later exposed by the victims.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Maroko Road, Ilogbo area of Ajangbadi, Lagos, where they reside.

According to the Police, the elder of the victims went to the Police at Ilemba Hausa Division in Ajangbadi, Lagos and reported that since December, 2024, the suspect,, who is her biological father, has been having sexual intercourse with her on daily basis.

She also informed the Police the said father, Emeka Kalu, also fingered her step-sister and when she complained to her step-mother about the actions of her father, she neglected her complaint and she decided to report to the Police.

The Police moved into action, arrested the suspect and transferred him to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Police Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

After thorough interrogation at the Gender Section, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.

The charges read :

“That you, Emeka Kalu, sometime in the month of December 2024, at No. 144. Maroko Road, Ilogbo Ajangbadi, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did defile your biological daughter, 14years old by having sexual intercourse with her and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

The Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.

The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
