A 37-year old man, Omole Bolaji, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he allegedly lured a 14-year old girl into his apartment and had sex with her after getting her confused.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that he has been arrested.

The incident happened at Smoke Balogun Street in Dalemo, Alakuko area of Lagos, where they reside.

The Police alleged the suspect to have lured the girl by dragging her into his apartment, locking the door from inside, using words of mouth to confuse her and touching her private parts, which made her became more confused and unable to resist him.

He reportedly removed her pant and penetrated her without the consent of the girl.

However, the girl later regained her senses and raised alarm alleging the suspect to have tricked and forced her into the act without her consent.

The matter was reported to the Police and he was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for interrogation over the act.

He reportedly admitted to have slept with her but with her consent contrary to the girl’s claims.

However, the Police found him culpable because the victim is still a minor and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for statutory rape.

When he was arraigned, the Court ordered his remand in correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, without an option bail following a motion by the prosecutor, Supol Victor Eruada, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.

The Presiding Magistrate, while admitting the motion directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP while the matter was adjourned till 17th February, 2022, for report of the DPP to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
